We will bee set up this weekend at the Homestead Antique Fair in Hico, Texas.  If you have never been to this show before you won't want to miss it.  It keeps on getting better and better each year.  We are taking a load of mostly all never seen before merchandise with lots of metals and an industrial flair including a spectacular vintage all metal zinc top table over 9 feet long!  You can find us in the building right across the street from the Homestead Store.  Seeing Mike's and Brenda's beautiful store is worth the drive alone.  From Waco it is straight up HWY 6 into Hico.  See their website for more details and check back here next week with photos from the show.

Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s that enchanting time of year again, and you do not want to miss the annual Holiday Preview Party at Bloom and Bee Swanky!  This November, Bee Swanky is celebrating six wonderful years of business; therefore, as a thank-you to our loyal customers, the Swanky girls are making this holiday season one to remember!   Come and bee welcomed by a hometown staff that greets every customer by name.  Each shop girl is always dedicated to help customers locate an ideal piece of furniture, home accent or a unique gift while the wintry aroma of candles will be enough to entice one to stay.  

Bluesy Music and carols will fill the store as local artist Steven Gereghty performs the songs we all love to hear.  Enjoy sips and nibbles including a tasting from Wiseman House Chocolates.     This year Bloom & Bee Swanky is giving back.  We will bee accepting donations of Non perishable Baby Food and Formula throughout the month of November, and will match each donation item for item to be given to Caritas.  

Christmas magic will surround the store as each customer shops for the perfect gifts for their loved ones. As you stroll their isles of white you will want to deck your halls and adorn your tree with both contemporary and vintage white, silver and glass ornaments. Just IN ... This Extraordinary Iron Antique Full Size Bed.  It is such a lovely greenish gray color and ornate with both the head board and foot board beeing a nice height.  I just happen to find these iron vintage scroll pieces in the exact same color to compliment.  We attached some to the top of the head board and added them to the column for interest.  They don't get much better than this!

I wanted to let you know it has been a super busy summer for me personally, but we have found new employees and I feel we have the Bee Swanky Dream Team in Place.  We will be blogging much more regularly now and have so much to update you on.  Fall and Holiday Orders (preparing for Holiday Preview Party November 3rd) as well as new Vintage Items are starting to come in by the pallets full, so please stop in and see what's new if you haven't been in lately.  Bee Seeing Ya!

HELP WANTED

A Rare Opportunity is Available here at Bloom & Bee Swanky. Help is needed for full time sales manager. Some Weekends are a must! A few times a year for special sales and events, late evenings may be required.

Your number one job is helping to maximize the store’s profit while minimizing costs. Retail Experience and customer service skills are minimum requirements. Computer Literacy is a must, NO Exceptions. You need to be able to take and format digital photographs. You must be able to excel at Internet researching! Experience is necessary with cash registers and POS systems.

Daily Tasks will include scheduling, managing the other employees to increase sales and increase efficiency, maintaining the highest level of customer service at all times, getting to know customers by name and maintaining customer database, keeping the store always displayed properly when items sell, protect employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment, checking in orders and maintaining inventory stock levels, purchasing items from walk-ins, taking phone messages, opening and closing store, balancing drawer, preparing deposits and basically being the liaison to the owner in any and all aspects by providing daily reports.

Of course there will be the occasional shop duties when other sale associates cannot be present or when other duties are complete. They include, but are not limited to sweeping/vacuuming, window washing, watering plants, changing light bulbs, cleaning restrooms, trash, painting and other things that a store just simply needs to operate. Also, the position will require the ability to occasionally climb ladders as well as assist in moving and rearrange heavy furniture within the store.

Another continuous duty, will be helping the owner to stay organized. She is very busy with multiple projects and appointments and needs help keeping the checkout area and storage areas neat and organized. This task will fall all on you to find creative ways to do this.

If you like to write, and are good at it, this position could fit you nicely. Experience writing press releases will be very helpful. If you are creative and have graphic design experience, this could be great opportunity for you as well. This position allows the right person to design and develop blog entries, newsletters, and brochures, print ads, in-store signage, postcards, and more ensuring that standards are observed with all marketing materials. Initiating and maintaining a complete and accurate database will be a continuous duty as well as packaging and shipping of Internet orders.

This position requires someone who truly enjoys a creative environment, varied duties and is a self-starter. This position requires confidence, tact, the ability to handle multi-tasking, following up projects, phone calls and customer’s requests are essential. You must be a quick learner and a SMILER which means you should be Happy! This position will require you to have daily interaction with customers. This will require a neat and orderly appearance as well as a pleasant disposition and attitude.

Although the shop is small and fun, we have goals, standards, and ambitions. Please don’t let the size of the business be an indicator of its ambitions. We expect to grow and would like the right person to STAY and grow with us. Hopefully, that will be YOU!
